FALL FEATHERS
I love this purple fountain grass. This is an annual here but long after it dies back I'll enjoy watching the plumes blowing in the wind or lightly dusted with snow (or mashed flat by a heavy snowstorm). I planted this one in a pot so I can move it to the front yard for a nice fall display with the pumpkins and the potted chrysanthemums. But that's after I get back from a week exploring the rocky coastline of Oregon. Happy first day of fall!

I love all kinds of grasses too. This fountain grass is lovely.
I love the looks of the feather grass, but can never figure out where to put it - the color would go better with my shade plants, but the grass would probably sulk at losing the sun.
Happy exploring! If the weather maps are right you're having spectacular weather.

Beautiful!
Have a happy fall trip LR!
That is beautiful. Last year I had purple fountain grass, but this year I could not find any. I really miss it.
I've bought the purple grass too now! :D
I wonder if that would grow here in Honduras? Of course, the locals would all want to chop it off with a machete. :0
Your photos are just spectacular.
When I look around town I've never seen as much of the fountain grass as I have this year. Sometimes I think the commercial growers get together and decide what plant they'd like to see the most of and flood the market with it. I'm not complaining! Oh, and Annie, mine is only in part sun.
Carol, I'm glad you found some fountain grass, and Zoey, I'm sad you didn't! La Gringa, your comment is too funny. Would they really?
P.S.
Becky, thanks for your comments. Do you have a blog I can view? I can't seem to find it!
